Talk about the past and present of Brooklyn.

nice to meet you.
Brooklyn Museum COO
My name is Harumi Naito.

From this time, in the e-mail magazine,
"Anything Trial & Error - This is Harumi's Style -"
We have decided to send out the following.

It's a bit, no, it's quite long.
I would appreciate it if you could read this to kill time.

First of all, it's the first time.
Self-introduction and recent activities
I would like to talk to you for a moment.

He has been in this industry for about 25 years.

At apparel and jewelry brands,
In addition to conducting human resource development, brand management, interior brand consulting, etc.
Construction site industry, nursing care industry, etc.
I have experience in all genres.

Clarify the purpose of the experience
Trial and error.
When it comes to things you are interested in, act without thinking ahead.
That sometimes hurts.

Therefore
Something that didn't go well.
I regretted that I had been an idiot.
Things that have reopened.
Countless.

In order to nourish them and make ends meet
Implemented the "Immediate action section".

Through many ups and downs like this, we have come to where we are today.
I'll leave the discussion about the government system and the nursing care industry another time. . .

My encounter with the Brooklyn Museum
I joined Brooklyn Co., Ltd. in my late 20s.
Together with the founder Kazuhisa Kusagaya,
I was running a women's select shop.

Antique jewelry that the founder purchased in London and
Accessories designed by me, bags and shoes selected from overseas, etc.
A select shop that focuses on one-of-a-kind items.

Although it was quiet
From the other side of the glass shop
My acquaintances and customers gave me a smiley nod.
It was a shop with a calm atmosphere.

Due to the location, sometimes actresses, soccer players, movie directors, etc.
Fun conversations with unique customers
I remember it like it was yesterday.

At that time, OEM (wholesale) was the main business in Brooklyn.
Brooklyn Team Co., Ltd. focuses on OEM
and the select shop Haas team. It was run by two teams.

Sparked a select shop boom in Japan
BEAMS
SHIPS
UNITED ARROWS
TOMORROWLAND
including BARNEYSNEWYORK,
A famous Urahara brand that created a sensation at the time.
Overseas, major department stores and
Paul Stuart of NY etc.
The main focus was on products with buyers who were particular about manufacturing.
Brooklyn Co., Ltd. at the time.

When I was young,
It was an era that I admired when I saw the adults who were very picky and having fun at work.

From around 2000, a huge wave of overseas fast fashion began to surge.
The era of mass production and price destruction has arrived.

Creating products that are swallowed up by this wave
For customers
for ourselves
Is it wise?
The founder repeatedly struggled with
From Brooklyn Co., Ltd., which focused on OEM
I decided to launch my own brand.
Our desire is to have customers look at our products with an elegant feeling as if they were in a museum.
This was the moment when we were about to create the brand name ``Brooklyn Museum.''

So, after talking with the founder, Haas was closed.
I retired from Brooklyn Co., Ltd. on good terms.

From then on
Thank you for gaining the experience I mentioned at the beginning.
2014 Aoyama main store opens in Jingumae
Returned at the time of reopening.

Timing of generational change in 2019
Became COO of the Brooklyn Museum.

Direction and design with Kusagaya, a modern figure
I handle various things related to management.

Now that the generation has changed, with the second generation staff
talk well
eat well
laugh a lot
We are active.

Everyone is highly ambitious and extremely flexible.
All the staff are respectful.

Words that the founder often said.
“How to have fun and enrich your life”
The founder was passionate about the product.

Currently, what are your thoughts and feelings towards the product?
Inherited by Masahiko Kusagaya, the founder's son and representative and craftsman.
I create things every day.

As someone who has seen a glimpse of the 20 years between the founder and the current leader,
“How to have fun and enrich your life”
Of course we can pass it down through our products.
Can you relate to this message?
Through activities with customers and other industries
I am working hard to make everyone laugh and cry together.

Last May, a restaurant called Maggie's Tokyo opened.
We held a charity event for Maggie's Cancer Caring Center, which originated in the UK.
In December of the same year, he introduced mindfulness.
Holding a life design work event.

In February of this year, through the experience of making things,
I love things that last a long time
``Let's bring an end to the era of disposable items''
A workshop was held on the theme of environmental issues.

any event
Customers, supporting companies, and our staff
A ``theatre of tears and laughter'' that will move you on all sides.
It's a very exciting experience and I'm addicted to it!

This year as well as last year, we had planned a Maggie's Tokyo event in May. (It will definitely come true once it converges.)

Other Japanese crafts from Singapore
At where we are transmitting
We have selected items from the Brooklyn Museum, and the crafts there are incredibly elegant and beautiful.

For customers of the Brooklyn Museum
I hope I can create an opportunity for you to see it.
When I told them that, they kindly agreed.
We also planned an event where we would display carefully selected crafts at the Brooklyn Museum and serve delicious drinks.

How to have fun and enrich your life
event plan. I'm still thinking a lot.

Even if it doesn't come true right now
I'll definitely see you all again.

Instead of wishing, decide.

Creating things to improve the level of perfection.

I talked with staff member Takizawa about web planning and sales activities to communicate the worldview of the Brooklyn Museum.
I talked with staff member Watanabe about things like production management and finance.

While having remote meetings with our reassuring staff
Teamwork continues without stopping.

We hope you enjoy our live shop! Because of this thought
It's already been a month since we started our live concierge & chat service.

Representative Kusagaya will be the model at the live shop.
Showing products and fashion coordination from head to toe.
Showing close-up details of wallets and bags.

Sometimes we talk about each other's hobbies and small talk.
Freestyle OK.

By the way, Kusagaya has a leather fetish.
He sometimes talks about leather as if he were explaining the parts of yakiniku.

Kusagaya says
“The live shop is like shopping on TV and is fun!”
That's what I'm saying.

in chat
Consultation regarding repairs and cleaning
Inquiries about delivery and arrival schedule
We have received such.

Although I can't see your face in chat

I sometimes receive encouragement from
I am saved by the power of words.

I'm slowly uploading it while acknowledging that it's really true.

Next time, I'd like to write about my efforts to address environmental issues and various other recent developments.

“Today's Trial & Error”

while thinking
When I was shopping at the supermarket,
As if to show what's inside my brain,
I found a rolled up turnip.
Do you want to reset your brain? ! I thought,
When I was cutting the mekabu into small pieces,
ART "Ladies with Mohicans" appear.

The two people on the right are wearing nice capes.
The second from the left is a lady from outer space! ?
I tried the trial
I came across an interesting error.
